Network completes crucial step on its development journey
Liverpool Access to Advice Network has been granted charitable status by the Charity Commission for England and Wales. This formal recognition by the Commission recognises that our work is fully in aid of the public benefit.
Gaining charitable status has been a long-term goal for the network in our growth as the coordinating body for Liverpool's advice sector. We are working to build trust across members, partners and stakeholders, through the sharing of information and knowledge in an open and collaborative manner.
Martin Jungnitz, Independent Chair, says:
"This is a critical next step in furthering our mission to protect and improve access to free of charge quality independent advice. Since the network was founded in 2020, we are proud to have created an innovative and diverse collaboration of advice providers and community organisations, sharing knowledge, information and expertise.
Charitable status was the natural and essential next step in our development as well as opening up further funding routes. This is an important milestone and we hope that it will support us in continuing and expanding our work supporting the local community support network."
Edward Hodgson, Coordinator, says:
"I'm absolutely delighted to have learned of our registration as a charitable organisation. This is a considerable vote of confidence in the criticality of our work and mission. We exist to help people in Liverpool access the advice and support they need, whoever they are, wherever and whenever they need it. Operating as a charity will allow us to safeguard the continued growth of our network.
I'd like to extend a vote of thanks to our elected committee and board of trustees for steering us to this milestone. They have invested a great deal of time into the development of our network, and I'm deeply grateful for their continued support and guidance."
