Edward Hodgson, Coordinator, says:
"I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our members for helping gather and formulate this evidence. I'm deeply proud of the evidence we submitted - it presents a true reflection of the sheer demand for free legal advice in Liverpool. It is also open and honest about the bleak realities of what can happen when someone is unable to access free legal advice and support when they need it.
We will all be interested to see what comes of the evidence we have submitted, and we hope that the Government seriously considers our recommendations. We have already raised concerns about the leading nature of some of the questions, particularly ones which refer to the high likelihood of limited investment being made in our sector."
The Justice Committee will begin hearing oral evidence later this year with the intention to publish its report in 2026. Liverpool Access to Advice Network looks forward to receiving and responding to this report.
