DEMAND HAS INCREASED.

88.9% are facing increased demand

Demand for advice is increasing year on year. This builds on 95% of respondents reporting increased demand for advice at our 2023 survey.

55.6% of respondents saw a significant increase in demand, and 22.2% saw an extremely high increase. Demand is growing faster than our sector’s ability to respond.

CAUSES OF DEMAND.

Respondents identified multiple issues driving increased demand. The percentages below reflect the share of respondents selecting each issue.

INCREASED COMPLEXITY.

77.8% are seeing more complex cases

The number of complex cases seen by our members, and the complexity of these cases, is increasing. 94% of respondents reported increased numbers of complex cases in 2023.

72.2% reported that the complexity of cases is increasing, and 77.8% reported longer delays accessing advice. This means clients often get support when their problems have worsened.

IMPACT FOR CLIENTS.

Rising demand for advice disproportionately affects vulnerable people. The most likely groups to be impacted are disabled people, older people, and people from low-income backgrounds.

IMPACT FOR ORGANISATIONS.

FUNDING CRISIS.

No respondents saw increased funding. 55.6% reported reduced funding. 66.7% said the changes to National Insurance Employer Contributions have harmed their organisation.
