Free Domestic Violence Training for LATAN Members

Recognise, Respond, Refer – domestic abuse related training for professionals

Delivered as part of the Make a Change project, this session is delivered by LATAN member organisation Merseyside Domestic Violence Services (MDVS).  The session will help staff to recognise harmful behaviour in relationships, help them to understand how to respond effectively and safely, and how to make referrals to the Make a Change project.

The Make a Change project is an early response approach to domestic abuse, and provides support to people who are concerned about their behaviour in their intimate, or previously intimate, relationships. Make a Change works directly with people using harmful and controlling behaviours, while empowering the people around them – local communities, friends, families and professionals – to see themselves as part of the solution, and to work together to address the problem.

This training would be suitable for frontline staff or volunteers who provide support to people, are engaged in building ongoing relationships with clients, including those making home visits to clients.
